Arturo Nuñez y su Orquesta "Mambo Festival" (Fiesta de Mambo) Recorded in Mexico SMC-Spanish Music Center 10"LP cat #SMC-538
Cuban band leader Arturo Núñez was one of the first to leave Cuba in the 1940s and settle in Mexico City, he preceeded Pérez Prado, Mariano Mercerón and others. Like with the other Cuban orchestras of Mexico the percussionists were Cuban. Arturo accompanied and recorded Beny Moré before Benny did the same with Prado, Duarte and Merceron in Mexico City. The legendary Gabriel Oller of New Yok City's Spanish Music.Center licensed this recording from Musart Records circa 1947 and this is the second pressing made by SMC in the mid-50s.
Arturo's brother Arsenio is on bass, these are the typical pre-NYC mambos ala Prado, Bebo Valdes et al

Vinyl is VG with original lustre, It plays all the way through without skips and, minimal surface noise-an ocassional static pop. I wish I had a VPI record wasging machine which would eliminate the slight surface noise. For those who record LPs to a CD using a Cedar or other comparable noise eliminator would surely give this 10" LP a magnificent mono sound. Blue SMC label with silver print and slight spindle hole wear, see photo, enlarge for detail
Record cover is lightweight cardboard, in good condition, no top or bottom seam seperation, some minum top and bottom edge wear, side edge has some slight seam seperation Front cover as seen in photo has a slight tear just off center and somevisible record rub wear. Back cover is in very good condition with no markings and ever so slight discoloration on top and bottom edges
I am very proud of my 100% rating on all my SALES,
ATTN: I appreciate your purchases, bear in mind I pack and pad-protect items very well using top quality materials which increase weight of package as well as the cost of materials.
International Purchasers: The US post office will only require signature and provide proof of delivery using PRIORITY mail, not for first class. This increases the cost of mailing outside of the US as I would prefer not to ship packages with no guarantee, it is not good for you, nor for me.
