Description

This is part of a large auction featuring mainly early Atlantic R&B/doo-wop 45's. There is lots of great stuff here including Ivory Joe Turner, Ruth Brown and some of the more obscure artists. There is also some cool bonus listings. Check back in a couple of weeks for another King/Federal auction.

Format: 45 rpm 7" single


Year: 1953


Notes: Yellow label original first pressing. Early single by Joe Morris with his stellar backing orchestra that boasted Philly Joe Jones, Percy Heath and Elmo Hope among others. This one is more jump blues than jazz, but you can definitely hear some of those elements. B-side has a great Faye Adams vocal.


Vinyl Condition: VG, Most of the records I'm selling this time are in pretty similar condition: vinyl itself is in great shape with basically no wear at all, but does have lighter cosmetic hazing. It sounds great with no skips/ticks/bumps, plays with hardly any background noise at all. Play grade is solidly VG+. Labels have some dirtiness & slight discoloration due to humidity or liquid exposure. Great player copy that I'm bumping down to VG for cosmetics.


Sleeve Condition: G+, sleeve has significant wrinkling and some water staining. No splits or tears. Small number written in pencil.
