Description

An original 1st press of DWBY on the UK B&C label from 1970. Matrix A1U/B1U. Stampers 1L/1T - placing this copy from within the 1st few thousand to have been pressed. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original Ernest J Day gatefold cover. Also included is the original generic white inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) In very nice condition has only seen light use. I need to be upfront and mention that there is one semi-feelable mark that spans track two and three on side 1. I've played though this section a number of times and I'm struggling to hear anything enter the audio spectrum as a result of it. Be aware of the mark, but understand that it is cosmetic, thankfully, as a result of this being an early 1970 heavy pressing. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with three deviations. Intros and inbetweens are very nice and quiet and the audio comes across with super clarity. Judging by the level of clarity delivered it can only have seen relatively light use, and must certainly be benefiting from being so close to those original masters. By and large this is a really clean player which delivers terrific sound. The only deviations are a couple of ticks during 'Can't Take No More' & four in  'Gershatzer'... and a touch of light static in the first passage of 'Tomorrow Night'. But in reality - precious little else. If you need a nice clean copy to reveal this masterpiece in full effect - do seriously consider this copy.
Cover (Vg+) Has a reputation for being difficult to find in decent condition. But this example seems to have survived the passage of time in very decent condition. There's light handling back and front, but no signs of the heavy wear that's often exhibited. A tiny sticker removal mark on the top right of the front. The interior looks great with nice deep black and only very slightest signs of handling. There's a bit of edge wear on the top and bottom edges - with a 1 inch wear through through top and bottom. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity thanks to the heavy card employed. Bit of wear on the spine, but better than most with most of the text still legible and just starting to get obscured in a couple of small spots.
Inner (Vg+) Light ageing. One bottom edge split has been taped up.
