Everything is in very good condition.

Slight cover wear with gold promo emboss over barcode on back and misc. letters lightly imprinted into cover along side edge near lower right corner of front.

Atrophy, originally named Heresy, was formed in 1986 by Chris Lykins, James Gulotta, and Brian Zimmerman. Tim Kelly and Rick Skowron later joined the band.

In 1987, the band produced two cassette demos and were subsequently picked up by thrash metal label, Roadrunner Records. They recorded two albums: Socialized Hate in 1988 and Violent By Nature in 1990. They toured the U.S. and Europe with another Arizona band, Sacred Reich, and Swiss band, Coroner. Following the European tour, Lykins left the band. Atrophy was subsequently dropped by their record label.

Socialized Hate was the debut album from Arizona thrash metal band, Atrophy. It was released on Roadrunner Records in 1988 and follows two successful demo cassettes produced by the band the previous year. It was followed up in 1990 by the band's final album, Violent By Nature in 1990. The album was co-produced by prolific producer/engineer, Bill Metoyer, who became famous for his work on early Slayer albums and went on to produce a lot of the thrash metal material released in the 1980s and 1990s, mainly on Metal Blade Records. The band went on to tour the USA and Europe with the likes of Sacred Reich and Coroner.

Violent by Nature was the second and final album from Arizona thrash metal band, Atrophy. It was released on Roadrunner Records – like its predecessor, Socialized Hate – in 1990. Again, the album was co-produced by prolific producer/engineer, Bill Metoyer. The band made the journey from Arizona to California to record it. They followed up with tours of the USA and Europe with the likes of Sacred Reich and Coroner, but shortly after, Chris Lykins left the band to pursue a medical school course and the band split up after Roadrunner Records lost confidence in the band because of the departure of one of its leading songwriters. [1] The model for the artwork is Richie Bujinowski (now Cavalera), who would later become Max Cavalera's adopted stepson and frontman of Incite.
