Description
Red label with silver laurel wreath logo at the top of the label, deep groove. Morris sings 12 tunes. These include some standards and some tunes which are not heard too often. She is accompanied by Marty Paich, conductor, arranger, celeste; Stu Williamson, trumpet; Bill Bitman, guitar; Joe Mondragon, bass; Irv Cottler, drums(on 9 tracks); Alvin Stoller drums(on 3 tracks), plus strings. Recorded in Hollywood in 1956. Morris is a premier vocalist, underrecorded and underappreciated.
Cover: VG Intact and clean with the exception of a 2" streak of what appears as smoke exposure near the spine on the back cover. This streak is dark brown/black in color. The notes can be read through this discoloration. There is some light overall aging on the back cover as well. Some light corner wear. The front cover, gloss finished, is in fine condition.
Record: VG to Mint(-) Visually shows no general wear but there are 2 bruises on the surface on Tracks 4 & 5, Side B. The results in a occasional click. This does not effect the tracking but causes some clicks that repeat. There are 2 or 3 light rub marks. These result in an infrequent, occasional click. Side A has no surface noise. This variation is the reason for the spread in my overall rating. I have detailed this condition but overall condition of the record is fine. Audibly checked.
