"The INSTRUMENTAL ENSEMBLE led by RAFIK BABAYEV was set up in 1960. Its repertoire includes jazz compositions, which are free improvisations on the themes of Azerbaijan folk songs and works of Soviet and foreign composers.

People's Artist of the Azerbaijan SSR Rauf Gajiyev is among the most popular composers of the republic. Captivating melodies, modern musical idiom and vivid rhythms - such are the distinguishing features of the composer's work."
