Description
Released in 1992, Fontanelle was Babes in Toyland’s second studio album, and their first to be released via major label Reprise.
Their most critically and commercially successful album, it was co-produced by frontwoman and guitarist Kat Bjelland with Lee Ranaldo of Sonic Youth heading production.
The group would go on to record one more full-length, but according to AllMusic, Fontanelle is “a frighteningly primal record, one whose sheer ferocity Babes in Toyland never quite captured this convincingly anywhere else.”
