BABY FACE WILLETTE “Face to Face” LAM, RVG, P, Blue Note 4068 mono Vinyl

This is 1961, first edition, Deep Groove, “RVG” stamped, “P” pressing of BABY FACE WILLETTE’s “Face to Face” on the "47 West 63rd” labels of Blue Note BLP 4068. Musicians include Baby Face Willette – organ, Grant Green – guitar, Fred Jackson - tenor saxophone., Ben Dixon – drums.

VINYL plays with consistent medium to high level surface noise (i.e, crackle, static, ?? or ????, relative to the volume of the music/instruments), with pops and ticks, some repeating, many loud. No distortion. No skips. Good gloss. Many hairline marks, handful feelable, prominent. (If you can’t feel it, you won’t hear it). The Deep Groove “"47 West 63rd” labels show aging and spindle marks. See photos.

COVER is in good shape. Corners worn, peeling present.  Top seam shows much cracking, spine much cracking and split. Lower seam cracking. “BLUE NOTE RECORDS INC., 43 West 61st St., New York 23” back jacket shows aging, stains, wear. Please see photos.

   

This LP was play-tested on a high-end audio system. RECORD CLEANED ON VPI 16.5 VINYL CLEANER.
