If you're interested in beautiful music, you must already know about the world famous cellist, Janos Starker. These particular performances of the Bach Suites were started in 1963 and were completed in 1965 at the Fine Recording Studio in New York City.  The Mercury Record Mfg. Co. copyright date on this boxed set is 1966. This is Mercury Living Presence Stereo at its best. This is a very rare set and the vinyl is in exceptional condition! The labels are dark maroon with silver lettering. This set comes with the original insert which is in near perfect condition ? no bends, creases, rips, but just has some rub marks on the back from rubbing against the inside of the box over time. The records are in their original sleeves and are in exceptional condition .  The sleeves are in perfect condition as well ? no rips, creases, holes, etc., but slightly yellowed from age.    The box cover is good with only a couple small scuffs in the lower right hand corner.  Also the corners of the box show minor wear with 2 of them having the tape splitting and a third corner starting to split.  The original seal for the box was cut (to separate cover from bottom in order to open) and the edges of that original seal/tape are fraying but intact.  Bottom of box shows some normal wear, but overall I think it is in very good condition and is very sturdy.   

 I have gone over the condition of the records in great detail and have tried to describe every little detail as best I can so that you will know exactly what you are bidding on.  I don't like surprises myself and am sure you don't as well, especially considering the great value of this highly sought after set.  Each side of the records have numbers hand etched into the vinyl, near the label. Each record is described in great detail as follows:

Side 1:       Mint condition - no visible scuffs or scratches
                      Engraved numbers are: SR-90445A-RFR-3

Side 2:       Very good condition but has some light "scuffing"  marks- only visible when held "just right" up to a light
                      Engraved numbers are SR-90445B-RFR-1

Side 3:       Very good condition but has 1 faint very light scratch  (about 1" length)
                       Engraved numbers are SR90446A-RFR-2

Side 4:       Mint condition - no visible scuffs or scratches
                       Engraved numbers are: SR-90446B-RFR-2

Side 5:       Very good condition but has a spot of some very light "scuffing" marks-only visible when held "justright" to a  light, and 1 very faint scratch (about 1" length)
                      Engraved numbers are SR-90447A-RFR-2

Side 6:       Mint condition - no visible scuffs or scratches
                      Engraved numbers are SR-90447B-RFR-2

 Overall I think this set is in exceptional condition.  Any minor imperfections described above are not easily visible...I had to look quite hard and have them held "just right" up to a light in order to detect them.  If you have any questions, feel free to ask.Payment is due within 10 days
