VARIOUS ARTISTS – A Bag Full Of Flames. Pseudonym VP 99.025. Netherlands release. NEW UNPLAYED VINYL RECORD ALBUM. Issued in 2011. 13-track compilation from the vaults of Dutch label Flame Records. 24-bit remastered from the original analog tapes. Comes in a heavy board stock gatefold cover, pressed on 180g vinyl with resealable clear outer sleeve (this is as it was received from my supplier [and packaged by the label], it has not been opened. Though no press run information is given by the label, most likely this pressing numbers between 500-700 copies, all pressed on black vinyl. TRACKS:  Kleptomania – Moonchild (unreleased version), Phoenix – Ode To Jimi Hendris, Sunshine Express – Nice Little Girl, Double Dutch – You’re Out Of Sight, Bag – Nothing Will Remain, Ton Vlasman – Pale Blue Eyes, Bag – Tripdream, Kleptomania – Cadens (unreleased version), Dennimaff – You’ve Gone Away, Ton Vlasman – It’s Allright With Me, Phoenix – Reborn, Rain – She Gets Me, and Kleptomania – Visit From Above (unreleased version). DESCRIPTION:  Flame Records was launched in 1970, a new label ablaze with big ideas hatched over long nights in smoke-filled rooms. Like so many big ambitions born of smoke and idealism, Flame lasted only a short time (closed down in 1971) before burning out, leaving behind just a handful of extremely rare releases, now highly prized by collectors, including a magical psychedelic folk album by Ton Vlasman, and a coveted 45 by Bag, now considered by many to be the best Dutch psychedelic single ever. This deluxe vinyl release presents the cream of Flame’s output, including the Bags magnificent Tripdream and Nothing Will Remain, Phoenix’s Ode To Jimi Hendrix and Reborn, and coveted Dutch beat and psych tracks by Dennimaff, Sunshine Express, Rain, and Double Dutch, whose 1967 mod stomper You’re Out Of Sight features future Outsiders member Frank Beek. There are also three 1971 tracks by Belgian progressive rockers Kleptomania (three previously unreleased versions), and two tracks from Ton Vlasman’s LP, including his haunting reading of the Velvet Undergrounds Pale Blue Eyes. This collection comes packaged in specially designed sleeve by Marijke Koger-Dunham, the Amsterdam-based artist who was once part of The Fool design collective, whose work famously adorned the faade of the Beatles Apple Boutique, Eric Claptons Gibson SG, John Lennons piano, George Harrisons Mini, and the sleeves of several classic sixties albums (Hollies, Move, Incredible String Band). Included is an insert with liner notes by Mike Stax of Ugly Things magazine & band information. The package comes in a Japanse style clear plastic outer bag for protection and all tracks have been 24-bit remastered from the original analog master tapes. Very cool!

All LPs are removed from their jackets and placed outside of the jacket for shipping. If an album comes sealed (and will be noted as such in the above description), it will be shipped whole unless you request that I open it up to place the disc outside of the jacket for shipping. Both jacket and disc are placed inside of an outer plastic sleeve before packing for shipping. I use professional corrugated record mailers.

RETURN POLICY:

Please e-mail me with specific details and I will get back to you with your options. I ask that if there is a problem with the item that you contact me as soon as possible after receiving it. Any item that must be returned is done so at the buyer’s expense. Any refund, exchange, or substitution/credit will be at the buyer’s choice, but not made until the original item is received back by me; in the condition as stated in the item description. 

NON-ARRIVAL OF PACKAGES:

US Customers:  Please wait at least two weeks from my confirmed shipping date before contacting me about the non-arrival of your package. All packages are shipped with confirmation/tracking, you will received an automatically generated shipping notice from Ebay e-mail with your tracking number. It has been several years since I’ve had a package not make its US destination, so risk is minimal.

INTERNATIONAL Customers:  Please wait at least 3 weeks from my confirmed shipping date before contacting me about the non-arrival of your package. If security is your concern please have your package registered (see above for fee). I do my best to quickly post packages, but once the package is in the hands of the world’s postal system it is beyond my control. With First-Class Package International Service my only option for investigating the loss of your package is to verify that it left this country to its destination country. Most all delayed/lost packages have disappeared/been delayed after they have reached their destination country. NOTE:  Based on recent buyer feedback, International packages have been moving much slower these days; it is not unusual for a package to take over three weeks for delivery, though normally packages should arrive in 7 to 15 business days.
