Description
You are bidding on one 16-inch vinyl radio transcription disc containing 30 minutes of live jazz from the Mutual radio series “Bandstand U.S.A” #30 as broadcast to our troops overseas circa July 1958.
From New York’s Café Bohemia, Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers play “They Say”, “March of the Boyd’s”, and “Bop Theme”. Then from the famed Storyville Club in Boston, it’s Erroll Garner playing a few of his originals, such as one called “Garnering”.
On the reverse of the disc is “The Rusty Draper Show” with Louise O’Brien and Rusty singing pop tunes backed by Roy Chamberlain and His Orchestra. 25 minutes.
The disc is in excellent condition with excellent sound. These recordings are from the estate collection of a former radio broadcaster and producer who hosted his own jazz and blues show while serving in the military.
