Description

vg+/ vg+ , Turkuola 7478, Turkey 1983 orig.

Very rare and seldom heard-of middle era work from Turkish prog/psych/exotica legend Baris Manco, with his early-'80s backing band Kurtalan Ekspres. The full title of this album is "Estagfurullah... Ne Haddimize," and it features a very East-meets-West-styled rock band with flute backing Manco's piano, organ, Prophet 5. miniMoog, clavinet, etc., done in a style that retains his classic '70s exotic, Middle-Eastern sounding rock elements along with a modernized '80s feel in the drums and synth parts,
Baris Manco was the god-daddy of the 1970s Turkish psych/progressive rock movement, paving the way for artists like 3 Hur-El and Erkin Koray. Even after the '70s, after 3 Hur-El had disbanded and Erkin Koray had moved to Canada, Manco kept going, expanding on his Middle Eastern exotica induced prog/psych rock. While his early works have been reissued and go for huge bucks as originals, this 1983 lp is hardly known and rarely if ever turns up.
Cover is relatively clean with several light creases, light ring imprint, light edgewear bottom, 2 tiny tape marks at bottom, tiny spot of wear top back cover, and one small 1 cm by 1/2 cm tear at bottom back cover. LP has obvious surface scuffs and hairlines , but nothing terrible. Some light surface noise may be evident, though it is far less obtrusive amid the rawness of this type of music than it would be in other types of rock. Keep in mind also that pressings from there back in that time were often not that great to begin with, and this is overall a solid copy of an album seldom seen in any condition.
