Description

BARK PSYCHOSIS Hex LP

1994 Circa Records CIRCA 29. UK. A stunning, absolutely drop-dead gorgeous copy of this legendary and extremely rare LP, never played. I am the original owner, and have kept the record in a poly sleeve since I bought it in 1994. The vinyl had never been out of the photo inner sleeve before these pictures were taken. It is pristine, with superb gloss, really luscious to behold. The custom Circa labels are stone mint - sharp and clear.

The amazingly beautiful LP jacket is in generally excellent, even near mint condition. The front and back faces are immaculate, very close to perfection. There are no marks and there is NO ring wear or impression from the record within. The matte finish along the edges is particularly delicate, however, so even though the record never left the poly sleeve it was stored in, there is a small amount of wear visible along the top and bottom edges and the spine (see detail photo collages). There are also two tiny creases and the beginning of a seam split along the top edge, and the back of the upper left-hand corner, above the bar code has a small indenting crumple (see detail photos). This corner also has some wear. I've tried to capture each of these minor flaws in the detail photos. While these defects are unfortunate, it is quite possible that they were created in shipping from the factory and were all already present when I brought the record home in 1994, because this copy has been very well protected in the 18 years since.
None of these minor imperfections detracts in the slightest from the stunning effect of the picture sleeve. This is easily one of the top 2 or 3 most beautiful records I have ever held in my hands. I've tried, but is not easy to do this record justice with a camera. The beauty of the cover is based on extremes that make it difficult to photograph: the dark matte frame around the miraculous, enigmatic cover photo, with its subtle hues and beautiful contrasting glossy surface, the delicacy of the different textures and colors, and the striking extreme black surrounding and bright white lettering. It's a really knockout package.   The photo inner sleeve is near mint, and looks brand new. It is again very difficult to capture in photographs, but is a very interesting piece.
Allmusic calls Hex "a masterpiece of unrivalled beauty and complexity... breathtakingly visionary." A generous soul has put the entire LP up on YouTube for your listening pleasure, starting here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WCw2seCIwGE

Hex is an amazing record album, a sublime work of art inside and out. This is an exceedingly rare opportunity to own an unplayed vinyl copy of the original UK release.
