THE BASSMEN-45-“The Last Laugh” b/w “Come On Home”-Gallantry Records #GRC-G2-745-675MP (LONG Matrix#!!!)-KillerKool & Holy Grail 1966 Tucson ARIZONA Garage-Punk. One of the best, up there with the Spiders, Nazz and Phil & The Frantics… A side most of you know from Dave Gibson’s BOULDERS series years back or from assorted comps (ARIZONA MELTDOWN)… If not, A side is top of the heap Garage-punk: Killer vocal/badazz lyrics, wailin’ drums, cool bass riff and sharp-edged guitar driven with a killer stinging and crude lead guitar break. Actually one of my favorite records of all time-Really KILLER… B side is sort of a surfy sounding-reverb-laden teen ballad, sort of Dion & The Belmonts go garage for lack of a better description. Two great and sort of barbaric surf-like lead guitar breaks.


Condition: Record is between G+ and close to VG-; some light wear, surface scuff on A side, B side has slight wear, some slight surface scuffs visible in certain light angles—Both sides have the ‘jukebox’ circular-surface wear on the openings-from the outer deadwax to about ¼ inch or slightly more into the opening grooves. Plays great with minimal background noise on A side; B side background is noticeable at times, but not annoying and mostly covered by song content.
