BATTERED ORNAMENTS / MANTLE-PIECE

Please look at my other auctions for some other desirable psychedelic/progressive related albums. Most of them were in my personal collection and are in very nice nick.

Seminal Harvest label release. Battered Ornaments was formerly Pete Brown’s band, but they dropped Brown prior to release this album. It may sound cliché, but I’d compare this album to Pink Floyd’s Piper at the Gates of Dawn with better musicians. Side A is more British blues-jazz oriented, as “A Meal you Can Shake Hand With in the Dark” was, but side 2 is where the action is, probably one starting point of progressive rock in UK, with sax, odd-time signatures and sound effects. The band is including, of course, the great Chris Speeding.

Original Canadian pressing, on the Harvest label # SKAO-422, 1969.

Record is M-: just light storage marks on surface.

Gatefold cover is EX: light shelf-wear and drill hole through bottom right.
