of BLUES RECORDINGS
in VERY GOOD CONDITION !!!
"BATTLE OF THE BLUES

VERY GOOD CONDITION !!
According to anotherauction house,
only 10 copies of this album
are known to exist.
HERE IS #11 !!!
By the time this 4th volume was issued,
interest apparently waned for the series,
thus the extreme rarity of the album.
This album has been in my possession
since the late 60's...
it's absolutely original !!
This impossible-to-find album with
ULTRA-CLEAN,
BLACK-COLOR
KING LABEL
includes 3 of the greatest blues shouters
of all time:
ROY BROWN,
WYNONIE HARRIS,
and
EDDIE "CLEANHEAD"
VINSON !!!
for over 5 years on EBAY,
I use the GOLDMINE standard for grading.
After listening to the complete album,
I find that this album falls easily in the
VERY GOOD CONDITION
grading.
There's surface noise evident upon playing
but it never overpowers the music.
The first track on side two,
"LONESOME TRAIN"
does have an audible click for 6-8 spins
but doesn't skip.
As a lot of my feedback indicates,
my grading may be conservative and
someone else might consider this VG+.
In any case, this 44-year-old album
is very listenable throughout !!
The cover also meets the
VERY GOOD CONDITION
grading.
The top & bottom seams
have yellowed scotch tape attached...
the tape was a repair attempt on the
split bottom seam;
however, the top seam doesn't show
any separation.
The B&W "ad back" cover has very light wear
(other than the tape discolorations)
and is remarkably clean for a cover
of it's vintage.
Despite it's age, the photos
and graphics are bright & colorful.
Scans are attached and can be enlarged
for closer inspection.
