BBC Transcription Service, Folk Song Cellar - 11 (Part Two) and 13 (Part One)

BBC Transcription Service, Folk Song Cellar - 11 (Part Two) and 13 (Part One).

Introduced by Robin Hall and Jimmie MacGregor.

Featuring: The Four Folk, Martin Carthy, Felicity Joinson, Bob Rundle, Margaret Barry, Cyril Tawney and The Exiles.

Original issue with green and yellow labels, deep "Decca" style groove, CN 408.

Discovered sleeveless and with no accompanying paperwork with a number of other transcription discs in an old vinyl carry case.

Note that each number in this series is spread across two sides but on different discs. (This was to facilitate seamless change over from one side to another when the discs were originally broadcast.)

Disc glossy but with some scuffs and scratches. Playback of side one can muster no more than a G grade. There is a nasty feelable scratch across most of track A2 leading into the beginning of track A3. This causes consecutive ticks which are obtrusive as the mainly affected track is a very softly performed song by Felicity Joinson. There are some other instances of soft ticks, some consecutive but these instances are not so distracting. From around halfway into A3 the LP plays a solid EX with minimal unobtrusive background noise.
