Description

BBC Transcription Service recording "Petula"


From what I have researched the three records make up an excellent six part series about Petula's life and career. Narrated by Anthony Newley. Originally broadcast in 1973 repeated in 1974. The records are dated 1974

The series is detailed on the website petulaclark.net

I havent listened to the records so I can only assume the programme consists of spoken word plus some songs.

These are an inheritance find, I do not know how they will play i have no equipment to test play them on. On visual inspection using the Ebay grading scale the condition in my opinion is better than good, individual record description  is below


Episode 1. The Soldier's Child. No obvious visual defects

Episode 2. Growing Up. No obvious visual defects

Episode 3. The Difficut Years. No obvious visual defects

Episode 4. A Change of Direction. There is a mark on the playing surface I have tried to capture an image in photos. How this will affect playing I don't know.

Episode 5. International Stardom. No obvious visual defects

Episode 6: What of the Future. No obvious visual defects


I have done my best to show each side of each record in the photos.


The general condition of the record sleeves is good considering their age, flimsy card with a plastic liner.

Please study the photos carefully to make sure you are aware of the condition, i have no deck to test play them on.


I have had experience in the past of buyers expectations being far and beyond reality. Please do not expect pristine straight out the package perfect records they are dated 1974, 47 years old, possibly been played numerous times, but they are original collectable memorabilia. I have not identified any reason why they will not play however I am unable to provide an assessment of the sound reproduction.
