Description
"Typically, BBC Transcription Services pressed 100 copies of each disc only, with instructions to the overseas radio network to destroy the disc at the end of the license period." - CN 2311 SQ - 2 LPs. - From the private collection of one of Toronto's oldest Classical Radio Station DJ's and critics. These were not mailed out in printed sleeves.
On the program is Weber's "Der Freischutz" Overture / Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto in D major, Op. 35 / and Strauss' "Ein Heldenleben" / Eugene Fodor, violin / London Symphony Orchestra - Walter Weller.
I have heard this concerto many times, but OMG! -never like this! I wish I knew how to explain his technical brilliance with a bow as a master would. In 1975 he was a highly sought after international star. The crowd goes wild!
Exquisite performances! Enjoyable condition. Side 1 = VG+, Side 2 = VG+, Side 3 = strong VG, Side 4 = very strong VG. -And so, the Tchaikovsky is VG+, and the Strauss is a strong VG. I am the top classical retail destination in Toronto. ...paradisebound.ca...
I have owned a record store for over 20 years and I've never seen this before and there is no history of it online!
