INCREDIBLY RARE - DELETED AGES AGO!!!! -- THIS AUCTION IS FOR STRANGE GAMES AND THINGS, RELEASED IN 1997 ON BBE (BARELY BREAKING EVEN).
THIS IS ONE OF THE FIRST (AND ARGUABLY THE BEST) RELEASES ON BBE AND IS IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND
THIS 2x12" IS 100% ORIGINAL & IN MINT CONDITION.
The Strange Games series which began in the summer of 1997, has supplied us with a blueprint for modern R&B and HOUSE music. It joins the dots between 70s soul, 80s rare groove and 90s mass market dance music.
Named after The Love Unlimited Orchestra classic, The Strange Games series not only reflects London’s rare groove scene, it is also the blueprint for modern R&B and Rap music. Regular clubbers will recognise most of the tracks, if not from the originals then from the music which borrows heavily from them. At the time of release nearly all of the titles were out of print and only available from record dealers with price tags large enough to wipe out a whole years student loan. Things have changed a bit since 97, with the rise in dj culture, the renaissance of vinyl, and a lack of quality new music being released quality; many of the major labels are now releasing their back catalogues, bringing the music of the seventies sharply into focus for the new generation.
