Description
The Beach Boys album The Smile Sessions is a new, expanded edition of their 1983 album Smile, and is closer to the "symphony to God" that Brian Wilson had envisioned when he first started composing and recording this material decades ago. The heavyweight records come in custom inner sleeves (one face of which is pictured) in a gatefold cover. The album also includes a 12-page color booklet (the front and back are pictured) and an additional sort of "cover" that drapes over the top and back of the album cover. This "cover" lists the Smile Sessions tracks, while the actual album cover lists the original Smile tracks. The gatefold cover is in beautiful near-mint condition, and at first glance the vinyl would also appear to be in near-mint condition. However, bright side light reveals some surface scuffing on three sides that, as best I can tell, has no effect on sound quality. Sides 1-3 of the album are in mono, while side 4 is in stereo.
