Description
Up for auction is a copy of The Beach Boys debut release, “Surfin’” backed with Luau, released in 1962 on Candix, cat no 301. This is the “hit” pressing of the 45 (if any pressing of this rare 45 can be described as a hit), and carries an Era Records distribution credit. One of the all-time collectible 45s. Condition: this 45 has clearly been played and enjoyed a great deal over the –count ‘em!- nearly 50 years since its release. The vinyl has plenty of surface marks on both sides, and both labels have fairly heavy wear. More positively, both sides play through with no skips or jumps (though inevitably with noise), and there’s no stickers, tears, writing etc on either label. Even so, I can’t grade this higher than G-. Still, here’s a chance to grab a classic and rare 45 at a bargain price. My grades: I use a 10-point scale: M-; EX; VG+; VG; VG-; G+; G; G-; F (fair); P (poor). I never use mint as a grade for used records. I am a long-time (25+ years!) record collector, and play-grade where possible. My feedback from buyers indicates I normally undergrade in listings. Even so, if you have any problems, I'll give you your money back (less shipping costs), no questions asked. Buy with confidence! Any questions? Need any more photos or an audio sample? I'm only an email away. Payment: UK- cheques (preferred) or Paypal. Rest Of World- Paypal. Email for other accepted methods of payment. Shipping: free (2nd class UK uninsured) £2 (1st class UK recorded), £3.50 (Europe) £5 (rest of world-airmail). Check my other Beach Boys & 60s pop auctions; combine orders & save on shipping costs!
