THE BEACH BOYS: Surfin´ Safari / Luau (´62 / extremely rare 1st German issue / ARIOLA 45441 A / red label / this 7" is unknown to many collectors, but it´s of almost "legendary" status to all those, who are aware of the record´s existence: this is the first-ever German Beach Boys´ 7", which was released shortly before the Beach Boys were signed to Capitol Records! (on the 2nd issue by Capitol Records the original B-side, "Luau", had been replaced by "409" - so "Luau" was only ever released on 7" format on this Ariola recording and of course on the US equivalent on Candix Records) / as this 7" had been licensed from the small US label, "Candix / X Records"*, consequently Ariola did also lose their rights to distribute the record in Germany, when the rights went from X Records/Candix Records to Capitol Records in the USA, and according to that the number of items, that were originally pressed, is extremely low (without having any further informations, I presume, that the number must surely have been much less than 1.000 items, more likely is a number of just a few hundred copies - just keep in mind, that The Beach Boys still were a completely unknown group at the time!...) / *short "background info" about the US issue: in the USA there were two early pressings, on "Candix" as well as on "X Records" - as you may have guessed, "Candix" and "X" are the very same label, which operated under these two names - as shown on the labels the German Ariola pressing is only referring to "X Records"! / in my opinion this first-ever Beach Boys´ 7" with "Luau" on the backside was only released in Germany and in the USA, but in no other country worlwide! / in recent years even the later Capitol pressing has become a rare and sought-after item, but this Ariola pressing isn´t only the "crown jewel" for all collectors of German Beach Boys´ singles, but one of their rarest 45s worldwide! / with orig. Ariola company sleeve - this is the correct sleeve the record was originally sold in!)

DESCRIPTION:
the vinyl has some small, fine surface scratches, but not too many, and especially there are no deeper "real" scratches (overall this is the best copy of "Surfin´ Safari" I´ve ever seen or had; almost all copies of this 7" seem to have been played quite "heavily" - and even though the grading is "only" VG(-), the condition of this 7" is much better tha the condition of most other copies! ) / writings on the top of both labels / otherwise the labels are clean and colourful / the company sleeve is somewhat bent, but there are no further obvious mistakesdie Platte hat einige kleine, feine Oberflächenkratzer, aber insgesamt nicht allzu viele und vor allen Dingen keine tieferen Kratzer (die Sound-Qualität ist sogar noch etwas besser ist als der visuelle Eindruck - insgesamt ist dies die bisher am besten erhaltene Ariola-Pressung von "Surfin´ Safari", die ich bis jetzt gesehen habe; fast alle anderen Exemplare waren sehr häufig gespielt worden und sahen auch so aus!... / Sie dürfen also trotz der VG(-) Einstufung davon ausgehen, eines der am besten erhaltenen Exemplare dieser extrem seltenen Platte zu bekommen) / auf beiden Labels befinden sich Beschriftungen im oberen Bereich / davon abgesehen sind die Labels nicht nur sauber, sondern Farbe und Text sind überhaupt noch nicht verblasst, wie ansonsten bei vielen Platten dieser Jahre üblich / der Einschub und die Ecken der Ariola-Hülle sind wie üblich etwas geknickt, ansonsten hat das Cover keine offensichtlichen Beschädigungen
