BEASTIE BOYS - Hello Nasty 12" Vinyl LP (1998) SEALED Grand Royal 1st Ed - GR061

This item is from my personal collection.

Up for sale is a RARE 1ST EDITION Beastie Boys - Hello Nasty 12" Gatefold Double Vinyl LP, Released in 1998 on the Grand Royal Record Label.  THIS ALBUM IS NOT THE REISSUE, which was released in 2009.  It is an authentic 1st Edition (please see photo #5 at the beginning of this listing to view the release year).

I am not absolutely certain, because my album is new and still completely sealed in shrink wrap, but I believe that my copy is the super rare edition that was pressed on clear gold vinyl.  I consider this possibility because my album bears the SKU # 758148-0061-17 (please see photo #6) and the Catalog # GR061 (please see photo #7), which are indicators of it being the gold vinyl.  I researched dozens of listings (both sold and currently listed) on eBay and Amazon, and the editions pressed on gold vinyl always had the SKU and Catalog # that my album bears.  Unfortunately, I am unwilling to break the shrink wrap to be positively certain that my album is pressed on the gold vinyl.  Doing that would immediately depreciate the value of it.

Even if the records are pressed on black vinyl, this is still a rare find, considering the fact that my version is one of the early editions that were released under the Grand Royal label alone, without any affiliation with Capitol Records.  The Capitol Records versions are extremely common and not difficult to find.  You can tell which edition you're looking at by three things:

• The SKU for the Capitol version is 72438-37716-15.
• Look in the lower left-hand corner on the back of the sleeve.  My version shows only the Grand Royal label and the Brooklyn Dust Music label (please see photo #8).  The Capitol version has the Capitol logo in between the Grand Royal logo and the Brooklyn Dust Music logo.
• Also look on the spine.  My version has only Grand Royal displayed (please see photo #9).  The Capitol version has Capitol Records displayed next to Grand Royal.

I, personally, have come across only one early edition of this album (pressed on black vinyl) that was released on the Grand Royal label alone.

Initially, I was going to list my album with a starting bid of $99.99; but because I am unsure about the color of the vinyl, I've decided to start the auction $25.00 cheaper.  If you purchase my album, and it does turn out to be pressed on the gold vinyl, you got yourself a good deal.  I've seen new/sealed versions of this album, pressed on the gold vinyl, recently going for $100 on both eBay and Amazon.  And as I said earlier, even if my album is pressed on black vinyl, at $75 (with FREE shipping), you're still getting a super rare gem because it's a Grand Royal 1st Edition with no affiliation to Capitol Records.

My Album (as a whole) is in NEAR MINT(+) CONDITION.  It is BRAND NEW AND STILL COMPLETELY SEALED IN SHRINK WRAP.  However, there are minor dings to all four corners of the sleeve (please see photos #1, #2, #3, and #6), a minor crease in the lower right-hand region of the front of the sleeve (it is so mild, I couldn't get a visible image of it), and a minor crease in the upper right-hand corner of the back of the sleeve (please see photo #6).  Other than that, the outer sleeve looks pristine.

My album has been kept on a shelf in a straight, vertical position and in a protective plastic sleeve as long as I've owned it (the sleeve comes included with the price of the album).  It has been housed in an indoor, climate-controlled, non-smoking environment.  (Please see the 9 photographs of my item, located at the beginning of this listing, to view its condition.)
