Description
This auction is for two ORIGINAL PRESSING LP's by The BEASTIE BOYS...LICENSED TO ILL and a bonus Lp...PAUL's BOUTIQUE. The Licensed To Ill is a Gold PROMO Stamped version with a rare label mispress the doesn't effect play. Condition is as follows:
LICENSED TO ILL: Original 1986 Columbia Def Jam Recording release, C 40238
Cover = VG++. Original Gatefold cover is really close to near mint. There are no seam splits, no holes, no writing marks or indentations, corners have slight wear but are generally sharp, inside gatefold picture is clean and bright, back side/ upper right corner has the gold PROMO stamp which is generally hard to find.
Paper Sleeve: VG++. Clean and clear. No writing or tears. Slight seperation on right side...very small. Generally the sleeve looks great...has the Fan Club info on lower right side and a live shot of the guys on stage.
Record: Visually it's a VG with no scratches, just paper scuffs and ghost marks from years of play (remember this is a promotion LP probably used by a DJ). I play graded the record and it sounds more like a VG+ with no jumps, skips, or major distractions during play. Actually it sounds great played loud. The labels have very little signs of spindle wear and no writing. There is a manufacturing defect on the side two label (see pictures). This miss-press doesn't effect play as it stays in the dead wax and not in the grooves...which makes this LP even more RARE.
Tracks are as follows:
Side One - Rhymin & Stealin, The New Style, She's Crafty, Posse In Effect, Slow Ride, Girls, Fight For Your Right
Side Two - No Sleep Till Brooklyn, Paul Revere, Hold It Now Hit It, Brass Monkey, Sjow and Low, Time To Get Ill
PAUL's BOUTIQUE: Original 1989 four-fold gatefold release on Capitol Records C1-91743
Cover: This is an original four folded cover that is in G condition. It has some moisture damage that can be seen in the pictures. It is a great starter copy...but is in now way mint. It still functions great and holds the LP firmly.
Paper Sleeve: The paper sleeve also has some moisture damage to one side and is graded at G...still holds the record fine. You can still read the words which I think are the lyrics.
Record:VG++. This record is way clean and plays awesome. There seems to be no connection with the moisture damage on the cover and the LP itself. Labels are super clean with no writing or tears...little spindle wear. The LP is Very clean and shows lots of gloss...actually very LITTLE play at all. I play graded this LP too and it is really nice.
If someone has a great Paul's Boutique Cover but a bad record...this would be a great investment.
Tracks are as follows:
Side One - To All The Girls, Shake Your Rump, Johnny Ryall, Egg Man, High Plains Drifter, The Sounds of Science, 3-Minute Rule, Hey Ladies
Side Two - 5-Piece Chicken Dinner, Looking Down The Barrel of a Gun, Car Thief, What Comes Around, Shadrach, Ask For Janice, B-Boy Bouillabaisse (59 Chrsitie Street, Get On The Mic, Stop That Train, A Year And A Day, Hello Brooklyn, Dropping Names, Lay It On Me, Mike On The Mic, A.W.O.L.)
