This auction is for a rare, original pressing of the Beatles debut LP 'Please Please Me' on the yellow / black Parlophone label. This copy carries the rare transitional tax code of MKT.
Copies of this LP usually turn up completely trashed. It was released as Beatlemania was at a peak and fans completely played their copies into the ground, or took them to parties where dancers would invariably knock into the record player and ruin the record. Today, because of this, decent original copies of this album are becoming increasingly harder to find!

The Cover : VG+

The cover is looking really nice for its age (remember, we're talking 53 years ago now!) and has some general wear and tear. The front is looking really, really nice with a lovely, thick laminate to it that looks predominately clean and clear from dirt buildup! There's just a very light disc impression and there's some little creases around the edge and some rounding of the corners. Top and bottom seams are both holding up really nicely with no splits or tears or anything! The spine, again, is looking great with fully legible text and no splits or tears of any kind. The back cover is clean but has browned a little with a little rubbing and browning at the mouth edge. The overflap at the bottom right has torn a little and folded over but, overall, the back is looking nice. Decent sleeve, overall!
Inner Sleeve: G++

The original plastic inner Emitex inner is included. It's looking a little rough with some wear and a small split at the bottom. The inner plastic is still stuck tight.
Disc (Visually Graded Only!!) : VG+

The playing surface has a really nice, crisp shine to it and, overall, is looking remarkable for its age. Usually the original copies of this album turn up completely trashed as Beatlemania really took its toll. However, this one is looking nice! There's just some light, faint scuffing here and there. The only thing I can see is in track 1 of side 2, just over half way trough there's a light ring where it looks like someone might have pressed down on the needle as the record was being played. If it wasn't for this ring I would have graded this disc EX-!

The labels are clean with sharp text. The labels are looking everso slightly tired and a name has been written in black biro on the side 1 label. There's some light spindlewear and a little whitening around the centrehole.
