This auction is for a rare, original pressing of the Beatles debut LP 'Please Please Me' on the yellow / black Parlophone label. This copy carries the rare transitional tax code of MKT.

Copies of this LP usually turn up completely trashed. It was released as Beatlemania was at a peak and fans completely played their copies into the ground, or took them to parties where dancers would invariably knock into the record player and ruin the record. Today, because of this, decent original copies of this album are becoming increasingly harder to find!

The cover is looking really nice for its age (we're talking over 51 years now!) and has light, general wear and tear. The front cover retains it's original, rich colour with very little dirt buildup on the laminate. As a whole, the laminate is lovely, thick and shiny! There's some little creasing around the edges and the bottom left corner has a crease. Both the top and the bottom seams are wholly unworn with no tear or splitting. the spine has a little knock at the bottom but is unworn with no splits or tearing, and is fully legible. The back has yellowed slightly, but is still nice and pale. There's a few little, light stains and a light browning at the mouth edge from years of handling, and there are some little laminate creases in the overflaps. the overflap at the bottom left has been caught and worn slightly and the top left has come away a little, but the rest is clean and stuck tightly. Nice cover!!   Inner Sleeve: EX+/NM-

The original plastic inner Emitex inner is included. It's a light cream colour and is holding up amazingly! There's only a very minimal disc impression and some light creasing around the mouthedge, but this is pretty minimal and, overall, the inner is stunning!   Disc (Visually Graded Only!!) : VG+

The playing surface has a lovely shine to it and some light scuffs in places. There's one slightly heavier looking scuffmark at the 2 o'clock position on side 1 that runs through from track 1 to the middle of track 6. I can't feel the mark under my fingernail, though. The rest of the playing surface looks fine with the aforementioned light scuffing. A lot better than how you usually find this album!

The labels are clean with sharp text. The labels are looking everso slightly tired but re free from writing, stains, stickers etc. There's some spindlewear and a little whitening around the centrehole. Nice labels!.
