PLEASE READ FIRST!
I'm having to make this even clearer as people are still buying records I'm grading low and as a 'collection filler', and then complain about the audio quality when they try to play them. As I do not own a record player I VISUALLY GRADE my records, so I cannotguarantee that discs will be click, skip and noise free (although any marks that may cause such problems will be highlighted in the description).
All photos are of the actual item on sale. I do not use stock or 'borrowed' images.

MEGA RARE Early Mono Press with 33 1/3 Prefix!
On offer here is an original early UK press of the Beatles debut LP 'Please Please Me' on the Parlophone. This early copy features the insanely rare '33 1/3' prefix on the labels!
Back when this album was initially in production, EMI used up the remaining 'gold' style labels and soon switched to the more common 'yellow' style labels. However, they initially did not change the label print blocks which had included a tiny '33 1/3' speed prefix to the right of the matrix number. The problem is that the newer yellow style labels already had the 33 1/3 speed prefix prominently shown at the top left. Therefore there was no need for this smaller prefix and so was almost instantly removed.
Today it is almost impossible to find copies of this album with this erroneous 33 1/3 prefix and so, today, are very highly collectible!
Comes in it's original 'gold' sleeve that has the Angus McBean credit aligned to the right edge of the S (as you can see in the photos below).

Title Please Please Me Year of Release 1963 Catalogue Number PMC 1202 Label Yellow / black Parlophone with additional 33 1/3 prefix and no 'Recording' text. Tax Code on Disc MT Sleeve Manufacturer Ernest J. Day Side 1 Matrix Number XEX 421-1N Side 2 Matrix Number XEX 422-1N Side 1 Stampers 1 / RM Side 2 Stampers 1 2 / GO Cover Condition The cover is in VG condition. The sleeve is holding up okay and looks better than what these older covers usually turn up like. The front is clean with some creasing in the laminate and some light rubbing and disc impression. Top seam and the spine are holding up fine with a few little wear marks. The bottom seam has a little more wear to it but has not split. The back cover is clean with some light browning, most notably down the mouth edge. There's a small tear at the bottom right on the overflap and a little damage to the one at the top as you can see in the photos below. Inner Sleeve Condition - Inserts Condition - Disc Condition(VISUALLY GRADED) The disc is in GOOD condition. The disc has a pretty decent shine to it and, mostly, just has a fair amount of light scuffing. However, there are a small number of small, heavier scratches that I can feel with my fingernail along with a few heavier looking scuffs. Label Condition The labels are in GOOD condition. The labels are clean but have some wear as you can see in the photos below.
All records have been visually graded under a strong, 125W natural light desk lamp.

My Vinyl Grading:
MINT No true preowned disc can be mint. The highest I will ever grade a disc is NM+/M- if it looks untouched and unplayed, but the MINT description will only be for records I personally know have never been played (i.e. I personally bought from new) or for copies that are still sealed. NEAR MINT (NM) For discs that look near flawless and which may have just the slightest, barely visible little whispy marks here and there. EXCELLENT (EX) For discs that still retain a brilliant, clean shine but does have some light scuffs here and there. VERY GOOD (VG) For discs that still look clean and have a nice shine to them, but do have a fair amount of light scuffmarks and/or some light scratches. GOOD (G) For discs that look like they have been loved and have a fair amount of scuffs and surface scratches. Not in terrible condition, but would look like it would play with a lot of crackle. FAIR (F) For discs that may have some life left in them but are pretty trashed with numerous surface scuffs and heavier scuffs and scratches etc POOR (P) For discs that are unplayable and look completely trashed. Discs like this would only ever be offered if they were insanely rare.price rating
