Description
After 20 years of collecting, the time has come for me to sell my Beatles collection and let other collectors appreciate some of the records and memorabilia I've accumilated over the years. Please check out my other listings and remember to save me as a favourite seller, as every week I'll be listing more and more increasingly rare, collectible and desirable Beatles records!
Please be aware that all records are VISUALLY graded only - all grades are given based on how they appear under my desk lamp - since I do not own a record player. I cannot guarantee that discs will be click and skip free, although any marks and scratches that might possibly cause such problems will be highlighted clearly in the description.

This auction is for a rare, authentic mono copy of the American Beatles LP 'Introducing the Beatles'.
When this LP was original manufactured, VeeJay were about to undergo a label change where their older Oval logo was to be replaced with their Brackets logo. Only the earlier presses had the older oval logo, and these copies only amount for a smaller percentage of overall copies pressed. Today, they're pretty hard to find.

Introducing the Beatles is one of the most counterfeited LPs of all time. However, this is a 100% authentic, genuine pressing. Nearly every fake lists the Version 1 songs whilst nearly every genuine copy lists the version 2 songs. Nearly every fake was printed as stereo whereas most mono copies are genuine. This copy has the right colour hue, it has George's shadow, it has the 1/4" internal overflaps at the top and bottom of the mouth (on fakes this overflap is much longer) and the back passes the 'Honey' test (fakes have a chunk of the H in Honey missing). The deadwax on the record is less than 1" thick and carries the 'Audiomatrix' machine stamp (fakes have a deadwax larger than 1" and nearly all do not have this stamp) and the credit 'The Beatles' is above the spindlehole. On every fake this credit is below the spindlehole!
This particular pressing, based on it's label style, was printed at Southern Plastics Inc. in Tennessee It's Spizer / Cox indentification number is VJ 1062 (2).MR1A.

The cover is holding up okay but is showing its age and has some wear and tear. The front cover is looking good with light wear over the photo of the guys and along the bottom. There's a little spotting bottom left, almost looks like light paint splatter? and has some light rounding of the corners. Top seam is holding with no splits but has some light paper wear and tearing. The bottom seam is much more fragile. It has some splitting but hasn't torn, but is pretty worn. The spine is holding with with pretty much no paper wear and no splits or tearing, and all the text is fully legible. The back has yellowed slightly with some light browning, most notably down the mouth and spine edges, and has some light wear and disc impression. There's a small pen mark over 'WHY' at the bottom left. Overall, holding up okay but has some wear and tear. Disc (Visually Graded Only!!) : GOOD+

The playing surface has a nice shine to it but has a fair amount of light, faint scuffing. On side 1 there're two heavier looking marks as I've photographed above. They're at 7 and 8 o'clock on the disc. Thr upper one is heavier and can be just about felt under the fingernail. The smaller, lighter one underneath is not feelable under the fingernail. Side 2 looks like it could do with a bit of a clean but there's no marks or scuffs worth making note of. The AUDIOMATRIX stamp is in the deadwax, but by this time in the albums production the stamp was getting pretty worn as you can see.

The labels are clean, crisp and clear with bright text. There's a few, light, little spidery spindlemarks and a touch of whitening around eacher centrehole.
