Description
The Beatles - 'Beatles For Sale'. PCS 3062
The Beatles 1964 UK 1st STEREO pressing of the 'Beatles For Sale' LP. Released on the 4th December 1964, these early 1960's stereo pressings are incredibly rare as very few were ever pressed.
Issued on the yellow and black Parlophone label this 1st UK pressing features the 'Sold in the UK ....' text, the 'Recording First Published 1964' text and 'The Parlophone Co.Ltd' rim print. Unusually the 'MT' tax code is embossed on the side two label. This LP SHOULD feature the later 'KT' tax code so this is some kind of pressing error. The LP also features the earliest possible matrix numbers with both sides ending in -1 and a matrix printing error described below. This comes complete with correct 1964 gatefold stereo sleeve and the original 'Emitex' inner sleeve.
The matrix numbers are:
Side 1: YEX 142-1 4 O. The digit '2' has been engraved over an additional digit which was printed in error. Hard to make out but it looks as if it should read YEX 143 the same as side two. Very, very unusual.
Side 2: YEX 143-1 2 P.
The vinyl is in VERY GOOD++ condition. Both sides play through with no problems just some crackle in places.
Both labels are in EXCELLENT condition.
The sleeve is in VERY GOOD+ condition.
The inner sleeve is in EXCELLENT/EXCELLENT+ condition. A MARVELOUS EXAMPLE.
This LP will be very carefully packaged for transit. UK recorded postage is: £4.00. EU recorded postage is: £9.55. Rest of the world recorded postage is: £15.95. Combined discounted postage is available.
VINYL VISUALLY GRADED BASED ON UK RECORD COLLECTOR GRADES WITH A + OR -.
