Description
Please be aware that all records are VISUALLY graded only - all grades are given based on how they appear under my desk lamp - since I do not own a record player. I cannot guarantee that discs will be click and skip free, although any marks and scratches that might possibly cause such problems will be highlighted clearly in the description.

Features 'Sold in UK' Statement!

This auction is for an exceptionally rare copy of the Beatles UK Export single 'If I Fell' / 'Tell Me Why' on the Parlophone label. Now, the original export copies are, in themselves, very hard to find. However, this is the domestic release copy that carries the 'Sold in UK' statement!
The 'Sold in UK' statement was added to EMI record labels in early 1964 and remained a feature until 1969 when the tax laws that required this text to be printed on the labels was changed. After this the 'Sold in UK' statement was no longer required and so was removed.
When this single was originally issued for export in late '64 the 'Sold in UK' statement was omitted as it was not being sold in the UK, therefore it wasn't required. However, as the band were so exceptionally popular at the time a number of record dealers were re-importing the export singles to sell in the UK above the regulation price. In order to combat this, EMI produced a tiny (and I do mean tiny) amount of copies that featured the 'Sold in UK' statement and made it available as a domestic release.
It's thought that literally only a couple hundred copies were ever manufactured with the 'Sold in UK' statement and, today, they just never come up for sale. This is an incredcibly rare opportunity to add this exceptionally rare Beatles single to your collection!

The Parlophone company sleeve is included. It has some light wear and tear with some light creasing and disc impression. However, there's no tearing or splitting and, overall, is looking very nice. Check out the photos above! Disc (Visually Graded Only!!) : VG+
The playing surface has a really nice shine to it with a fair amount of light, faint scuffing all over. However, there's no serious marks or scratches and isnt looking too bad at all!

The labels are clean with no sticker marks or writing or anything. The labels look at rubbed but the text is still bright. There's some light spindlewear and a little whitening around the centrehole, but otherwise the labels look very nice!

All records have been visually graded under a strong, 125W natural light desk lamp.
