This auction is for a phenomenally rare and hard to find 3rd press copy of the Beatles debut single Love Me Do. This pressing is on the later black Parlophone label, with 'Sold in UK' statement and ALL CAPS rimtext!
When this single was originally released back in October 1962 it did pretty modestly, reaching number 17 in the charts. After the release of their follow-up single, Please Please Me, an album was hastily recorded and released in March 1963. By then, the single had long dropped out of the charts.
Because both songs on this single were on the album, there was absolutely zero need to by a replacement copy of this single, and so any copies that feature the later black Parlophone labels in general are in themselves very, very hard to find.
But this copy is from even later and features the 'Sold in UK' statement and ALL CAP rimtext! The label style and company sleeve date this pressing to mid 1965. By this time the Beatles were into the Help era and this particular single would only have been available to buy via special order. Because of this, and because the songs were already available to listen to on the Please Please Me album, pretty much zero copies of this single ever turn up!
Until now! This is an incredibly rare opportunity to be able to add this single to your collection. Due to how few were ever manufactured back in 1965 they just never come up for sale today! A great opportunity to add this mega rare single to your collection!

This company sleeve is original to this single and helps date this particular pressing to mid '65. The sleeve is in VG condition and is holding up okay but does have some light, general creasing and a few little tears as you can see in the photo above. The name Angela Beighton and Love Me Do have been written on the top right of the front and 'PS I Love You' has been written on the back at the top left in blue pen. The seams have worn a little. The sides are a litle worn but are holding fine. The bottom is just beginning to show a hint of a split in the very middle. Disc (Visually Graded Only!!) : EX-
The playing surface has a very nice, crisp shine to it and is looking pretty clean. It does have some light, faint scuffing all over but there's nothing serious at all. Looking very nice!

The labels are looking very nice with nice, bright silver text and no writing, tears, stickers etc. There's a little, light spindlewear and a touch of whitening around the centrehole, but other than that the labels look very clean. Nice!

All records have been visually graded under a strong, 125W natural light desk lamp.
