Up for your consideration is this very scarce 1966 mono copy of "Yesterday And Today" by The Beatles. This was released on the Capitol label as T 2553. This is an authentic and highly sought after "Butcher" cover. When this album was first released, it was almost immediately recalled due to the controversial subject matter of the cover. A new cover design was rushed in to production. Rather than replace the batch that had been released, the existing albums that had not been purchased were fitted with a glued on "new cover" and resealed. They were then reintroduced to the retail market. This is one of the first batch that has been peeled to show the original cover art. It is also about 1/8 inch narrower that the reissued copies. The matrix numbers are T-1-2553-F-17 and T-2-2553-F-17.
The record is visually graded a VG, but does have a few ultra light scuffs. I don't think they will affect audio quality. The labels are clean with only a hint of spindle marks. The cover is a difficult one to rate. There are a few very small areas where the peel had issues, but generally it was a sucess. It has a somewhat matte finish, presumably from glue residue. I've taken a bunch of pictures, so you be the judge. The back cover has a little staining, undoubtedly from the peel job. The seams and spine are tight. The inner sleeve is a Capitol promo paper one and thought to be original. Overall, a really nice copy of an extremely rare LP. I tend to grade conservatively. You won't be disappointed

All LP's are cleaned on a Nitty Gritty record cleaning machine, inserted into new anti static sleeves and then into new 3 mil outer sleeves prior to shipping. I ship only in new designated record shipping cartons with reinforced inserts.

California buyers will be charged 7.75% sales tax unless a signed California resale card is provided prior to shipping. Just a number won't due.
