Description

The Beatles - 'Strawberry Fields Forever / Penny Lane'. R 5570

The Beatles 1967 UK 1st FACTORY SAMPLE DEMO pressing of the 'Strawberry Fields Forever / Penny Lane' 7" single. Released on the 17th February 1967, and offered here fully complete with the rare original picture sleeve.

These initial early factory sample pressings would have usually been given out to reviewers, radio stations or used as quality control within the pressing plant.

Released on the Parlophone label this solid center promotional issue features the 'Sold in UK....' text and has 'The Gramophone Co. Ltd' rim print. The 'KT' tax code is embossed on the 'Penny Lane' side. Only the initial batch of UK 1st pressings were issued within this rare and fragile picture sleeve. With the vast majority of copies housed within a standard Parlophone company sleeve the picture sleeve variation has become a desirable addition to any Beatles collection.

The Matrix numbers are:

Side 1. 7XCE 18415-1 3 GL KT

Side 2. 7XCE 18416-2 1 GM KT

The vinyl is in VERY GOOD+ condition.

Both labels are in EXCELLENT- condition. NO damage, just light spindle wear. Sticker has been picked at but is fully intact.

The sleeve is in VERY GOOD+ condition. NO seam splits. I will also include an additional sleeve to protect the original.

This will be very carefully packaged for transit. UK Recorded postage is: £2.55. EU Recorded Postage is: £8.55. Rest of the world recorded postage is: £11.95. Combined, reduced postage is available.
