Please be aware that all records are VISUALLY graded only - all grades are given based on how they appear under my desk lamp - since I do not own a record player. I cannot guarantee that discs will be click and skip free, although any marks and scratches that might possibly cause such problems will be highlighted clearly in the description..

This auction is for an original mono pressing of the Beatles legendary LP 'The Beatles' (Commonly known as the White Album).

This is a complete set! The cover is the original mono top-opening sleeve and numbered 0243439. All four portrait photos are there as well as the original poster and the black inner sleeves!

This was the last original Beatles' album to have a full mono mix (Yellow Submarine was just a stereo fold-down into mono). Subsequantly most of the tracks have both subtle and blatant differences to their stereo counterparts. A website that details some of these differences can be found HERE.

By 1968 mono was pretty much a dead format. Stereo records coming down in price to be the same as their mono counterparts along with the price of stereo record players drastically dropping meant that everybody bought stereo and the mono copies were left on the shelf. Mono sales dropped so much that by 1969 it was discontinued completely as a format across all labels. Because of this, stereo copies of this album far outsold the mono copies!

All these factors make this a highly collectible and desirable Beatles album!

The Cover : VG-

The cover is holding up okay but is showing some light, general wear and tear. the cover has yellowed is is now a light cream colour (The Cream Album...?). There's a little dirt buildup but looks like it could be cleaned up a little - I'll leave that to the winning bidder. There's some light disc impression and some creases in the laminate - mostly around the edges. The openings at the top are a little worn and rounded. Side and bottom seams are holding tightly with no wear or splits. Spine has folded over and it looks like the laminate has peeled and bubbled down the fold, but there's no splitting or anything. Back cover is pretty much like the front but there's also a small tear at the top right that's about an inch or so long. Inside the gatefold is more of the same, with light dirt buildup and disc impression, but the overflaps are still stuck tightly and are looking good. Overall the sleeve is looking a little tired, but is holding up tightly with no splits or real damage bar the aforementioned small tear.

  Inner Sleeves : G+/VG-
Both inner sleeves are holding up okay, both with some disc impression and a fair amount of light creasing with some wear around the mouths. One inner sleeve has small, light splitting in the seams but the other is fine. Holding up okay, especially since these are made from fragile paper.
.   The Inserts (Poster) : VG-
The poster is complete and has just started to tear a little on a couple of the seams, but not seriously. It is showing moderate wear, mostly on the folds. The post, after being folded back to it's original size has then been folded again leaving a crease mark down the middle.   The Inserts (Photos) : EX+/NM-

The four photos are looking really, really good! These are the original photos with the darker, richer, more natural colours and printed on the original, thicker stock paper and you wouldn't guess that they're 46 years old! Sharp corners, no creases or folds or writing and snowy white backs. Awesome photos!   Disc 1 : G+/VG-

The playing surface on disc 1 is looking okay with some scuffing and light marks. There's one light but prominent scuffmark on side 2 that runs down the right disc of the disc. But this looks to be more cosmetic than anything. A previous owner has spotted the vinyl with pen where each track starts on each side.   Disc 2 : G+/VG-

Again, like disc one, the playing surface has a fair amount of light, faint scuffing. There are two small scratches on side 4 that are at the 8 o'clock position which are just about feelable under the finger. Like the dirst disc, a previous owner has dotted with pen where each track starts.

Disc 1 Labels : VG
the side 1 label is looking great with no wear, tear, stickers or anything, with a rich colour and just a little, faint spindlewear and a touch of whitening around the centrehole An easy EX label! The side 2 label is mostly the same but there's a sticker tear at the top, with the dark areas apparently penned back in to lessen the impact of the damage. It's this that brings the grade down to a VG.   Disc 2 Labels : VG++

The side 3 label is looking fantastic with the only thing being a small, solitary, very faint spindlemark and just a touch of white around the centrehole. Ean easy EX+/NM-. The side 4 label has a little more faint, spidery spindlewear and a very small amount of sticker damage at the top, and it's this that brings the grade down a little.

Because of this, please don't ask me to dispatch the record to a different address to the one you have listed on PayPal as I will not do this.

All LPs will be mailed out in a strong, corrugated cardboard LP mailing box with the LP outside the sleeve. Extra sheets of corrugated cardboard will be used where applicable and FRAGILE tape used
