This auction is for an original, 1968 1st press copy of the Beatles legendary LP 'The Beatles', known more commonly as The White Album.
This copy comes complete with it's original photos, poster and black sugar paper inner sleeves.
It's very hard to find a complete White Album set as, back in the day, the majority of fans pulled out the poster, hung it up on the wall, used it for the lyrics. The goes with the photos - most were pinned up on the wall and, along with the usually, usually got trashed. It's not difficult to find an original copy of the White Album, but it is to find it complete like this copy!
A very nice, decent example of this rare and highly collectible LP!!
...
The top-opening cover is holding up very nicely and is a great example! It has creamed a little (The Cream Album?) and has a little, light wear and tear, but nothing serious. The front is clean with a lovely, shiny laminate which has just a little rubbing. There's some light disc impression and some little creases around the edges. There's a little sticker residue at the bottom left I've just noticed. Bottom and side seams are holding perfect with no splits or wear. The spine, unfortunately, is what brings the condition of this cover down from an EX grade as there is some wear, most notably at the upper half where it's worn through the laminated paper and gone through to the card underneath. The bottom half of the spine is holding better with no splits. Back is like the front with clean, shiny laminate with a little rubbing. There's some light creases around the edges and the top right corner is showing a slight amount of wear from the spine. Top left looks like it's taken a bit of a knock. Inside has creamed slightly but the laminate is beautifully clean, thick and shiny and the whole inner gatefold looks lovely! Overall, looking very nice with a little, light unfortunatel damage to the spine, but overall holding up very nicely! Photos : EX+
The photos are looking in really, really nice condition and all have a beautiful, rich colour to them! George has a very small crease on his right cheek, Ringo has a very small crease on his right cheek, John has a very small crease on his right cheek and Paul has some light spotting residue type marking on the top. But this is very faint and almost looking like a printing error more than anything. Overall, the photos are looking very, very nice!
The poster is looking very nice with just the usual light creasing all over and a little wear on the seams. No splits though! Looking very clean with minimal wear and tear.
.
The inner sleeves are included and holding up fine. They have light creasing and disc impression as you can see in the photos above. One sleeve has small splits in the side seams, but the other is holding okay. Overall, slightly damaged but holding up well.
.
The playing surface has a really nice shine to it and just a little, light scuffing and marking in places. Looking very clean!
.
Disc 2, again, has a nice shine to it but has some light scuffing. Nothing at all bad, however. Looking very clean! Disc 1 Labels : NM-
The labels are completely clean with no writing, tears, stickers etc. Both labels just have some very light, faint little spidery spindlemarks and no whitening around the centrehole. Gorgeous labels!
