The Beatles - 'The Beatles (The White Album)'. PMC 7067 / PMC 7068
The Beatles 1968 UK 1st MONO ODEON EXPORT pressing of the 'The Beatles White Album' LP. Released on the 22nd November 1968, and offered here FULLY COMPLETE and with incredibly rare ODEON EXPORT STICKERED VINLYS AND SLEEVE.
Released on the dark UK Apple label, all four sides of the vinyl feature the 'Sold in The UK ....' statement. Each of the green Apple labels features a large gold foil Odeon sticker indicating this was destined for export out of the UK to a country in which the Apple trademark was not registered or recognised. The matrix numbers on ALL four sides of the vinyl are the very earliest produced with each side ending in -1 (see below for full details). The vinyl are housed within the original black die cut inner sleeves and come complete with large original poster and set of four colour prints. The cover is the original top opening sleeve which has embossed 'THE BEATLES' and the unique number of '0518102'. The front of the sleeve also features a smaller gold foil Odeon sticker to the top left corner.
In over 20+ years of collecting Beatles vinyl I have only twice seen Odeon export stickers on Beatles Apple albums and both those were issues of Abbey Road. I have NEVER come across, seen or even read about UK Odeon export issues of The White Album. It is very likely that this is a currently undocumented export issue (I can find NO reference to this on Popsike.com or the internet). An incredible export rarity in desirable MONO format. You will probably NEVER see another.
The matrix numbers are:
Side 1. XEX 709-1 1 33 3 10 RO (very strange but it's there).
Side 2. XEX 710-1 8 GMP
Side 3. XEX 711-1 1 HT
Side 4. XEX 712-1 5 MP
The vinyl are in VERY GOOD condition. Both have a minor warp.
All labels are in EXCELLENT+ condition.
The sleeve is in VERY GOOD++ condition.
The inner sleeves are in VERY GOOD/VERY GOOD- condition. One has a tape repair. I shall include additional inner sleeves for protection.
The poster is in VERY GOOD condition.
