After 20 years of collecting, the time has come for me to sell my Beatles collection and let other collectors appreciate some of the records and memorabilia I've accumilated over the years. Please check out my other listings and remember to save me as a favourite seller, as every week I'll be listing more and more increasingly rare, collectible and desirable Beatles records!
Please be aware that all records are VISUALLY graded only - all grades are given based on how they appear under my desk lamp - since I do not own a record player. I cannot guarantee that discs will be click and skip free, although any marks and scratches that might possibly cause such problems will be highlighted clearly in the description.

This auction is for a very rare 1969 MONO press of the Beatles LP 'Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band'!
This is the 1969 press that features the old yellow / black label design but omits the 'Sold in the UK' statement! These are incredibly rare and hardly ever turn up for sale!
In mid 1969 the tax laws that required UK domestic presses to feature the 'Sold in the UK...' statement since 1964 were changed, and so this text on the label was removed. This happened literally just a couple of months before Parlophone adopted the EMI 'one box' silver / black label design that the other EMI labels were beginning to use. By the time this was happening the fans were buying albums like Abbey Road and Let It Be and the earlier albums were barely selling at all.
Not only that, but this is the even more rare MONO pressing! By 1969 mono was a completely dead, obsolete format and everybody was buying stereo. Parlophone only produced a tiny, tiny amount of mono copies with this label variation before the format was pulled.
So we have a label variation that was only available for a couple of months in a format that nobody wanted at a time when nobody was really buying the album. It's because of this that, today, this variation is incredibly hard to find!
This would look great in any Beatles collection!

The cover is looking really nice with some light, general wear and tear. The front cover has a lovely, rich colour to it ith a slight dirt buildup and a little disc impression. There's some light wear in the corners and down the mouth edge and some light laminate creasing around the edges. Top and bottom seams are both holding tight with no wear or splitting. The spine has some wear at each end and some little flecks of laminate peel, but hasn't split and is fully legible. the back has some light dirt buildup and some light disc impression. There's a mark at the top right that runs about 4" where it looks like someones taken something with sharp point and run it over the laminate, causing an indentation. The corners are a little worn. The innter gatefold retains all of its original colour with a lovely, thick, unbleminshed laminate! Overall, the cover is looking really nice with a great colour and no tears or splitting. The cut-out insert is included. It's showing it's age a little but is complete with no cuts or tears. 'Neil Brown' has written their name at the bottom left in the white rectangle. Back is clean although has started to everso slightly brown around the edges. Disc (Visually Graded Only!!) : EX+/NM-

The playing surface has a lovely, crisp shine to it and all I can really see under my desk lamp is just one or two very light, very barely visible scuffmarks! There's a little dust on the playing surface - I'll let the winning bidder clean that off. Stunning vinyl!

The labels are clean, crisp and clear with bright silver text. The side 1 label has just one, very light, solitary little spindlemark and no whitening at all around the spindlehole! The side 2 label has a little more light spindlewear and just a touch of whitening. Overall, stunning labels!!

All records have been visually graded under a strong, 125W natural light desk lamp.

All LPs will be mailed out in a strong, corrugated cardboard LP mailing box with the LP outside the sleeve. Extra sheets of corrugated cardboard will be used where applicable and FRAGILE tape used
