Description

After 20 years of collecting, the time has come for me to sell my Beatles collection and let other collectors appreciate some of the records and memorabilia I've accumilated over the years. Please be aware that all records are VISUALLY graded only - all grades are given based on how they appear under my desk lamp - since I do not own a record player. I cannot guarantee that discs will be click and skip free, although any marks and scratches that might possibly cause such problems will be highlighted clearly in the description.

This auction is for a very rare and highly collectible pressing of the Beatles legendary LP 'Let It Be'. What makes this particular pressing special is that it's a MONO pressing!

In the UK the mono format died out just after Yellow Submarine was released in 1969 (even earlier in America, dying out just after Magical Mystery Tour in 1967). In the UK the final two albums were only available in mono on reel to reel tape. Vinylwise, however, it was stereo only.

However, in Brazil, the mono format was still going, and Let It Be was released in both mono and stereo! In fact, the mono format continued on into the early 70's, so Let It Be, Abbey Road and the early solo releases have all been confirmed to have a Brazilian mono release!

The cover is a little difficult to grade as there's a loose plastic bag sealed over the actual cover that's protecting the flimsy cardboard underneath. However, there is some kind of burn mark on George as I've shown above. I've tried to grade fairly, taking into account that the bag has wear and rubbing, basically taking the damage that the card would have taken if it wasn't being protected. The playing surface looks like someone has tried to polish it with a very fine sandpaper for some reason, as there's this light scuffing that's swirling around on both sides. There also some slightly heavier looking marks on side 1 but I can't feel the under the finger.

The labels are looking clean with a nice colour. I can't really see any spindlewear and there's just a touch of centrehole whitening. Nice labels!
