Description
This set, featuring 13 record sleeves - 14 records with the bonus, Rarities, was first introduced by EMI/Parlophone in 1978. It is highly-sought by audiophiles because of the manner in which the records were produced. In the 1960's Capitol Records received 2nd or even 3rd generation copies from the UK. These UK BC 13 LP's utilize the original EMI analog master tapes and give a quieter, smoother, more vibrant sound than the original 1960's recordings. Most of BC13 was cut and mastered by the legendary Harry T. Moss, who worked for both EMI and Abbey Road Studios. His "HTM" signature is etched into the dead wax runout. All labels are EMI but revert to Apple beginning with The White Album. The 4 color Beatle photos and the fold-out poster are still inside The White Album, as well as the Sgt. Pepper cardboard cut-outs. On the label wrap-a-round rim the text begins with "All rights of the producer" and includes the word "rent" - authenticating a true 1983 pressing.
