Description
The BEATLES. 45 rpm vinyl record. Vinyl Condition is Goldmine EX. Looks unplayed, vinyl and labels. A SUPER Collectable. Glossy Red labels. A long backstory on these: short version: VJ/Tollie owned the rights to the first 16 Beatles songs. Capitol had turned them down in 1963. The Beatles got crazy hot and were making Billions it seemed. Capitol sued VJ and had more leverage and by October ‘64 they were court ordered to cease sales and destroy their Beatles mothers, etc. But, until that day in October (and perhaps beyond), they pressed the hell out of those mothers and made as damn many singles and Albums as they possibly could!! These records are the result! There are only 4 USA VJ/Oldies 45 Beatles 45s issued in 1964 (none were issued in Canada) and they still proliferate the market 50 years later. Most in Unplayed condition so they look like counterfeits. But I believe they are original excess issue (except the crappy ones with “Oldies 45” in Black ink). Those are worthless unless you are a “completist” like me! I am listing a set of 4. All look Unplayed. Let’s see what happens. Back in Fall 1964 I owed every Beatle thing I could find. I was 13. But I already had Tollie TWIST AND SHOUT and THERE’S A PLACE so I skipped on owning reissues just 6 months later. These all compare favorably. Fans buy them and virtually never play them because they already own it on VeeJay or Tollie. Fans are crazy!! Like me!! And these red reissues were on shelves for years. VJ had them pressed by several companies (a fortune was to be made). So the labels and prints often have differences. Still original. I just spent an hour reading Bruce Spizer’s book re these reissues and I believe these are not counterfeits. If Bootlegging and Countetfeiting were that easy I would be doing it and making my fortune. None of these 4 are Hard to Find Worldwide. Request a copy of my Top 100 Hard to Find Beatles songs on 45 Single Worldwide list, if interested. Both sides are MONO. Stereo did not become common on 45s till 1969! Request my List of 150 Worldwide Beatles Songs in Stereo, if interested. See photos, actual record. Super nice for its age and scarcity. Common white sleeve. Sorry, company sleeves are deadly hard to find. Comes from 50+ year Beatles collector. Shipped with USPS Media Mail. Multi purchases all mail for $5. Beatle Lew.
