Description
For your consideration is an exceedingly rare acetate for The Beatles Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds/A Little Help From My Friends, on the red and black Audiodisc label. SOng titles have been hand-written on the label. Interestingly, Lucy in the Sky Diamonds also has L8 and LSD written on the label. I understand there is some controversy over whether the band meant to refer to LSD - Lennon denied it - though the initials are written here. Not sure who wrote the title, probably a record copany employee, so it probably doesn't mean anything. There are two tiny specs of acetate loss on the A Little Help From My Friends side (pictured below). They do NOT affect the song and are in the pre-song dead wax. Condition is otherwise VG+. I found this in the closet of an old Georgetown nightclub in Washington D.C., which became a storage facility in the 1980s for a local restaurant group which never threw the records out. Under a cryogenic layer of dust when I found it, it is fresh to the market after 20 years in storage.
