This is a very rare early 1st pressing of A Hard Days Night by The Beatles in MONO. According to the research that I've carried out the MT Tax stamp dates this record to between January and July 1963. The KT stamp came after this from July 1963 through to Jan 1969. Of course A Hard Days Night was released in 1964, which means it perhaps should have been the recipient of a KT stamp.
Indeed I can actually prove this as I have another, almost identical copy of A HARD DAYS NIGHT that does in fact have the KT Tax stamp, making this one (with the MT stamp) highly unusual.
Thus, it would appear that this example is either a very early pressing (1963) or it was mispressed having been given the wrong Tax stamp. If there are any other Beatles experts out there who can shed more light on this, please send a message and I'll happily stand corrected if I've missed something. Either way, I'm sure you'll agree that this is a fine example of a Beatles 1st pressing in truly Excellent condition.

Condition: Labels: EX+ No alien marks, sticky labels or writing. Vinyl: EX A deep glossy shine with one or two whispy finger scuffs, nothing serious. Audio Quality: EX+ Super duper paratrooper Outer Sleeve: EX Garrod & Lofthouse Flipback Inner Sleeve: EX Original poly-lined Use EMITEX The laminated flipback sleeve by Garrod & Lofthouse has nice smooth edges all round with minimal creases and only slight storage wear and scuffing to the bottom corners. Also, there are a few chips to the blue laminate along the bottom edge. A very nice clean and bright back with no writing, marks or stickers. There is some faint brown age staining near the opening edge. One or two very minor laminate creases to the flipbacks.MORE PICS
Original poly-lined Use Emitex inner sleeve in Excellent condition with no writing, splits or tears and only very minor age staining. A deep glossy shine to the vinyl which has no feelable scratches. Some faint whispy finger scuffs and sleeve withdrawal hairlines only. back to topGRADING
Our vinyl grading system is based on the criteria used by 'Record Collector' and the 'Record Collector - Rare Record Price Guide'. We believe this system is widely considered to be the Industry Standard. Please note we have used our own grading abbreviations (in parenthesis) and our own variations (in between) where it becomes subjective and difficult to distinguish between two grading categories. Please also note that most of our vinyl is generally (unless otherwise stated) VG or above. Grade Record Sleeve Mint (M) The record is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition Near Mint (NM) or EX+ In between (difficult to distinguish) Excellent (EX) The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing VG + In between (difficult to distinguish) Very Good (VG) The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable Good + In between (difficult to distinguish) Good (G) The record has been played so much that sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc. Fair The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained, and/or defaced Poor The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing Bad The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler. back to topSHIPPING & PACKAGING
Packaging: Please be assured that your vinyl record(s) will be packed securely with at least one stiffener and placed within a heavy duty mailer for extra protection.
