Description
Beatles 3rd State Peeled Stereo Butcher Cover w/Trunk Slick
Selling one of my most prized Stereo 3rd State (Peeled) Butcher Covers. You are bidding on a genuine 1966 professionally peeled Stereo Butcher Cover that comes complete with the removed trunk slick and stereo record and Capitol inner sleeve. This is an awesome peel and a solid jacket with some minor condition issues. Professionally Peeled Butcher Covers in this type of condition are getting harder to come by and are commanding higher prices even as second states. Make no mistake, this is a beauty AND it's a STEREO ! Stereo versions are said to have been produced in far smaller quantities than mono versions and good peels are especially hard to come by. Stereo versions can be quite challenging to peel as well.
Top and bottom seams are average with a mostly complete top seam and a slight crack near the mouth opening. The bottom seam had been taped at one point and the tape was removed and there is what appears to be a neatly repaired light cracking through a great portion of the bottom seam. Does not look that bad though. Spine is average with all 99% of all printing and paper present with just some checking and light cracking. We've all seen much worse.
The back of the jacket is fairly clean and mostly complete with very light wear and tape stains on the very bottom.
The removed trunk slick is included and with noticeable wear, tear and wrinkling from the peel (see photo). Name written in red ink on very top left hand corner of removed trunk slick.
Scranton Stereo record that came with this is included and has not been play graded but has many light scratches and in fair to good condition. This record can be easily replaced. Inner sleeve is golden Capitol Scranton inner is included with a bottom seam split.
This is a used item that is being sold in "as is" condition. This cover exhibits some light glue residue/lines from the pasteover process at Capitol back in 1966. Please refer to photos and feel free to contact me if you have questions.
