The Beatles
Abbey Road
1st press
Fantastic 1969 Beatles UK LP. This was the Beatles' 12th LP, released on the 26th September. It was also the last official Beatles release that was recorded by them. Staying at number one for almost 18 consecutive weeks, it was only knocked off by The Rolling Stones' "Let It Bleed."
Catalogue number: Apple PCS 7088

Vinyl: EX+. Simply Gorgeous, lovely vinyl, it has just a couple of the lightest marks, but nothing AT ALL to affect play, just enjoyed listening to her all the way through, with only the faintest of background noise...Which I believe could well disappear alltogether after a proffessional clean...REALLY NICE EXAMPLE!
Labels: NM-. Superb, dark labels in line with the first pressings. Maybe a handful of spindle marks! NO "Sold in the UK..." text and the outer text begins: "Apple Records all rights.." "Mfd. in U.K." text. VERY, VERY NICE LABELS!!!
The last credit for "The End" leaves out "HER MAJESTY" on the Side 2 label...Early press.
Cover: VG+.The cover of this LP is lovely, but there are some spidering points. In particular, there's spidering to the laminate around where the record was housed in the sleeve. Slightly dented corners, as well as a small split to 2cm to the top righ corner. The spine is lovely, white and strong.
The alignment of the Apple Logo on the back is OUT OF LINE with the text
Inner: VG. Original BLACK inner with the window to the one side rather than the two. The down side are the tears of 8cm and 5cm from the window hole. Feathering to the opening too. BUT it is the rather more RARE BLACK inner which you don't get to see too often. Thick paper!
'Mint' means I have just stepped out of the record shop in the 60's, never opened, nor played the record and kept it in fantasticaly dry and warm condtitons...unlikely isn't it!!
