Description

This is a Meet The Beatles album cover (Capitol T-2047 Mono). The front of the cover is peeling at the top right corner to reveal that Capitol Records re-used another album cover and pasted Meet The Beatles over the front. This is similar to what Capitol later did with the Yesterday and Today (Butcher) cover. The Beatles paste-over is securely adhered to the original cover with the exception of the top right quarter. The cover underneath is I Almost Lost My Mind by Ray Anthony (Capitol ST-1783, 1962). I determined this by searching known early 60s Capitol artists and finding a visual match for the small portion visible. This is the only example of a "2nd-state" Meet The Beatles cover that I have ever seen. No record or inner sleeve are included, only the cover.
