The BEATLES official USA Capitol 1980s reissue release of their SIXTH Original US Capitol 1965 STEREO LP album BEATLES VI from May 1965 with 11 songs, partly taken from their UK albums: BEATLES FOR SALE (6 songs), and not yet released HELP (3 songs), plus 2 bonus tracks, the rarity BAD BOY and B side YES IT IS!! (Another Beatles hodge-podge or “butchered” album not consistent with Beatles albums in UK.) However, this one is considered a nice mix of Beatles original hits and rockers and covers, similar the US “Beatles’ Second Album” from a year prior!! NOTE: This Stereo copy still uses Issue number ST2358! Mono was T2358!! This LP was deleted from the US Beatles catalog in 1988 like the other 9 US original Capitol albums!! So it pre-dates that year!! But is it Purple from 1978?? or Rainbow from 1983??? See photo 3! Most likely Purple!! This one is produced by George Martin. Fantastic, As always!! The 33rpm vinyl is always the best way to collect Beatles albums. Another of the worlds great iconic covers on a record album! Great Wall Art all these years later!! Still the Beatles with 1964 “long hair”, a beautiful cover! This STILL SEALED LP is graded Goldmine NM, never opened, believed to contain the Purple Capitol labels shown in photo 3. Anyone know for sure?? I spent an hour trying to verify!! I bought this copy SEALED around 1989! It is UNPLAYED. It is UNOPENED!! See photos 1-2. Truly Near Mint. Eventually ALL Beatles UK albums were remastered for 1987 reissue in US and UK!! And of course remastered again in 1995 and 2012, I think. So, most of the “original ten” US Beatles Capitol Albums will probably NEVER EVER be reissued again on vinyl!!! GET A SEALED COPY WHILE YOU CAN!!! Classic hits here are: EIGHT DAYS A WEEK, DIZZY MISS LIZZY, KANSAS CITY, and WORDS OF LOVE. Of course every song is a classic, even today, 55 years later. My favorite: YES IT IS, great 3 part harmony ballad, similar to This Boy from 1963!! The Beatles aimed at getting this LP to market following the huge success of BEATLES ‘65 LP from December, as well as the SHE’S A WOMAN / I FEEL FINE single in the US!! Plus it contained 3 early releases from the UK Help LP!! They all still sound so fresh, with Incredible energy from the Boys as they attack your ears with superb melodies and harmonies! This is still a beautiful record, quite wonderful sounding!! John was 25, Ringo 25, Paul 22 and George 22 on this album release date.!! The cover/sleeve is SEALED in original shrink wrap since its purchase by me. I quickly learned to handle them as little as possible, especially one of these original 10 reissues which I thought would become rarer and greatly treasured!! And I kinda liked the RIAA Gold Record Award Seal on the front covers of several!! Read more on “45cat”, my favorite worldwide discography site. Trying to price it is guesswork. Few are for sale on eBay. Most older ones have a small press number on the back just left of the RIAA Seal, but not the final later issues like this one, so I guess the market will tell me what these are worth!
