FABULOUS COPY - TRUE FIRST PRESS
Here's a brilliant UK 'black and gold' copy of Please Please Me, the debut album from the best band of all time, dating back to 1963 - a fab piece of Beatles' history.
Barely played and in treasured keeper condition, this is the best copy of Please Please Me I have come across in years. And it is a true first pressing with the various Dick James Mus Co publishing credits, no Northern Songs credits, embossed M T tax credit and true first press Ernest J Day flipback sleeve with the Angus Bean photographic credit in the correct position.
Very rarely does such a well preserved copy turn up these days. Most black and gold copies look like skating rinks, having been thoroughly played and carelessly handled over the years. But this copy is an absolute delight. Please please have a look at my photos to see how carefully this copy has been treasured.
The disc lies perfectly flat on the turntable, with no warping whatsoever, and plays beautifully, all the way through, both sides. It also looks lovely to the naked eye - just light surface marks are discernible on the vinyl when viewed under harsh halogen lighting - a few light hairlines and a small graze but absolutely no feelable scratches. It's a comfortable and very presentable VG+.
Both of the treasured black and gold labels are near perfect, with no rips or writing, and virtually no sign of any spindle marks (certainly no spindle wear), denoting very little play over the years.
The mother stampers are 1 - T and 1 - L, a very early copy.
The first press Ernest J Day flipback sleeve with the Angus Bean photographic credit in the correct position is in strong VG+ condition, with no unwanted writing or sticker tears, tiny corner dings, and with some light tape residue discolouration along the rear panel and interior opening edge.
This is easily one of the better black and gold copies of Please Please Me you will be lucky enough to find today, and a very first pressing at that.
Good luck if you are bidding - I carefully pack vinyl using professional packaging and post with the disc removed from the sleeve to prevent knifing during transit.
