If you've been looking for a decent and genuine Scranton PA Stereo #2 Butcher Cover that looks better than most of the peels that keep cropping up, this may be for you. Check completed auctions and you will see that this is an excellent value for a nicely peeled genuine rarer Scranton 1966 3rd state Butcher Cover package that includes the removed trunk slick. A near mint LA Stereo in near mint shape sold recently for over 5k. This won't set you back anywhere close to that number but is certainly a very respectable and displayable 3rd state. 
While the market is currently getting flooded with overhyped peels with large obvious large scars/damage with bad touch up, the good news for buyers is that this jacket is a step above those other in appearance. Those mediocre peels that appear every week are only increasing the value of the more presentable covers. Due to the difficulty of the peel and subsequent restoration process, these Scranton Butcher Covers are much harder to come by in displayable condition such as this one. This one is better than what is usually seen out there in this price range. But don't just take our word for it, look around and compare what you are buying for what price on completed history. Take a close look at the photos and please see below for specific condition description.

Condition: 
Front of Jacket:

Butcher Slick presents nicely overall with minor glue residue/factory brush lines from the Capitol factory adhesive process used back in 1966 during the trunk paste over process. Compare these photos to other sold covers that exhibit smeared print and color loss, etc and you will see the difference that not all peeled Butcher Cover are created equal. This cover could be easily be professionally matted and framed and this would look just about as nice as a much most costly stereo jacket in the 3k and above range. As you can see from the photos, nothing from the peeling process (glue residue, minute pinpoint touch up to tiny abrasions, etc) detracts greatly from the awesome presentation of this jacket. This is unusual from what is generally offered on these specific jackets.Take a look and judge for yourself. 90% of these tough to peel jackets are destroyed with huge tears, obvious print loss and other damage from amateur peeling and unprofessional attempts at glue removal. See last photos for this jacket prior to being peeled.

Seams: 
Top seam has a few inches of paper loss in the center of that seam/top white border and right top corner edge tip that was closed with adhesive to reduce any further spreading (see top seam photos). The bottom seam is mostly complete with just over an inch of split on the right side and a much smaller split on the left side end. (See bottom seam photo). Seams have been closed in the areas that show cracking. (See bottom seam photo). To protect what remains of the seams, a record should never be attempted to be forced or placed into this jacket. Even with a mint condition jacket in the shrink wrap, it is always advisable to store the record separately outside the jacket to protect the integrity of the jacket. 
 Spine: 
Spine shows most of the printing still legible and a majority of the spine paper is intact but there is less than and inch of paper loss at the bottom end and a smaller chip of paper missing on the top end of the spine. (See Spine photos).
Back Of Jacket:  
The back of the jacket shows general light wear but nothing terrible (see photo of back of jacket). 
Trunk Slick: 
The removed trunk slick is included with some wrinkling/wear and minor repair. (see trunk slick photo)
Record/Inner Sleeve: 
Comes complete with Scranton Stereo pressing in Good to VG- condition (some light scratches/scuffs). Plays through without skipping but does have some light background noise that doesn't completely overpower the music. Not a terrible example but not anywhere near a high grade example. This item has been through a laborious process from the 2nd state to what you see here, and as such, the grading is unique on this item.This cannot be graded like a comic book or a baseball card due to the fact that this jacket has twice been altered from its original state, once by the paste over process at the Capitol Factory and likewise by the peeling process. Any minor imperfections are from either process. The photos speak for themselves and we do our best to accurately grade these historic artifacts.
