Description
Beatles Genuine 1966 3rd State (Peeled) Butcher Cover
Please read entire description/auction terms prior to bidding on this item. Thank You
If you've been looking for a genuine and authentic 3rd State (peeled)1966 Mono Butcher Cover to professionally frame, this might be for you.
Many collectors consider this album the "holy grail" of their record collection. While these jackets may seem costly to the entry level collector, these particular jackets are hard to source in this price range that don't look horrible. They have tended to hold their value over the years. A First State cover sold several months ago on Ebay for over 12k ! While that is certainly out of reach for most collectors, this offering is certainly more attainable.
This jacket has a few condition issues (see detailed description below) but is a great entry level piece that presents well in this price range.
Please read the jacket description below for specific details on condition.
Look around and compare. While this may not be for the ultra picky buyer, but is an excellent value for someone looking to professionally frame a genuine Butcher Cover for display. Please check our positive feedback for customer satisfaction of past sales of genuine Butcher Covers. Also look at realized prices of completed auctions and compare.
This item will be safely and securely double boxed and shipped to you via Priority Mail. Please read complete description prior to bidding.
Condition:
Front of Jacket:
Front Peeled Butcher Slick on this jacket presents nicely with no major issues as the trunk slick basically protected the Butcher Slick underneath. Any touch up would be very minor. No big rip/tears etc. Make no mistake about it, this is a nice peel. See attached video of peel in progress.
Seams:
Top seam is mostly unspilt but shows approximately 4" of a seam crack on the left hand side that appears to have been glued by a previous owner. Bottom Seam is complete and unspilt with exception of a small corner chip. To protect the integrity of what remains of these seams and avoid future damage, a record should never be attempted to be forced or stored inside this jacket (See close up photos of seams).
Spine:
Spine also shows some minor missing paper/chipping/splitting throughout and appears to have been properly secured but most writing is present and legible. (See Spine Top and Bottom photos).
Back Of Jacket:
The back of the jacket displays average to moderate wear/staining with the most notable stain appearing on the top left hand corner (see photo of back).
Trunk Slick:
Sorry but no trunk slick included on this one.
Record:
Comes with East Coast mono pressing in Fair to Poor visual condition (many scratches/scuffs). Has not been play graded and cannot be guaranteed not to skip, etc. Capitol Green inner sleeve is included with several inches of typical split on bottom seam.
Terms Of Auction/Shipping:
Due to recent inflation and subsequent increases in actual USPS shipping costs, Buyer pays $39.99 for properly packed double boxed priority shipping with tracking. Shipping of such a high value, large package with significant weigh is costly and labor intensive and will likely be more that what is being charged here. Regardless, the cost to you will be capped at $39.99. International Buyers are responsible for all duty taxes. Bidders with low feedback or new accounts must contact us prior to bidding on this item. Seller reserves the right to cancel bids at any time. Due to the exceptional cost and labor involved in shipping this item, this is being sold "AS IS" and there are No Returns on this purchase. Please review all photos and descriptions and please contact with questions prior to bidding. What you see is what you get. This item has been through a laborious process from the 2nd state to what you see here, and as such, the grading is unique on this item. This cannot be graded like a comic book or a baseball card due to the fact that this jacket has twice been altered from its original state, once by the paste over process at the Capitol Factory and likewise by the peeling/restoration process. Any minor imperfections are from either process. The photos speak for themselves and we do our best to accurately grade these historic artifacts.
Please not that T- Shirt seen in background is NOT INCLUDED in this auction and is for display purposes only.
Thank You !
